Parents need to stop being crazy. Well, lots of people actually. Media junkies are too quick to believe that anyone whose wandering eye happens to fall on their child is out to molest them. To these people I think the damage has been done. It'd be to tough to convince them that it's any other way, let alone that they shouldn't lock the kinds in the addic when there's an older someone who wants to be friends.
