Here's an io9 article on the stop-motion film Coraline ⚠️ ↗, the title character of which will be voiced by Dakota Fanning. If you haven't got it, I'd recommend picking up a copy of the book ⚠️ ↗. It's just right for reading to your special girl on a chilly winter night--spooky but not too scary.

The upcoming live-action Jack and the Beanstalk ⚠️ ↗ film could prove interesting. It has a wonderful cast of girl actors, including Chloe Moretz, Sammi Hanratty, Madison Davenport and the stunning Emily Rose Everhard.

Finally, I'd like to mention the animated Steve Carell feature called Despicable Me ⚠️ ↗, which sounds girltastic:

"A 3D CG-animation, Despicable Me follows a deplorable man known as Groo who masterminds the mother of all heists when he plots to steal the moon. Egged on by an evil mother (Andrews), Groo finds one obstacle in his way: a trio of orphan girls who temporarily come under his care and won't leave."
