A long overdue thanks to GC

About a year or so ago I made a post here concerning some serious issues I had at the time. I was dealing with a death in the family, financial problems and thoughts of suicide.

Firstly, I'd like to thank all those here at GC who offered their advice and support at a time when I really needed it. It's not like me to not reply to responses and I aplogise for that but it was a post (and a time in my life) I was in no hurry to revisit so I kept putting it off.

Anyway, I've well and truly moved on from all that and life has changed dramatically. In the end we did have to sell the old family home to pay off the debts. It sucked at the time but before long it felt good to make a fresh start.

This year I took on a new job in a line of work that was very much a leap into the unknown and I'm happy to say it's been a huge success. The financial rewards have been very good but even more important is what it's done for me on a personal level. Not only has it brought me great satisfaction but I've discovered talents I never knew I had and see a whole exciting new career path in one of the most unlikely of vocations (for me anyway).

For the first time in my life I actually feeling as if I'm fulfilling my potential, having spent most of my working life feeling like a fish out of water.

I really should learn not to wait until a crisis hits before making these sorts of life changing decisions. This isn't the first time I've done this. Oh well, better late than never.
