No, I do not believe that kids should be the property of the state. I said that they will be autonomous individuals, who will be able to decide for themselves who they stay with, based upon who they are most happy with. The state, if it still exists at this time as such, will simply enforce their right to do so. As a youth liberationist and as a Marxist (a genuine Marxist, not those bizarre notions of "communism" that you seem to adhere to) I do not support the idea of kids as property of anyone at all, and this includes the state. They are seperate individuals from their parents and their parents therefore have no right to claim ownership simply because they produced the children with their sexual activity and their children therefore share their DNA. So you really, really misinterpreted what I said. However, I do believe that the entire community should have a hand in raising children; I do not believe that two people in the entire world should have sole decision-making powers over what happens to the kids they produced. The kids themselves should have this ability to decide. How you came to the conclusion that I said the state should decide these things is beyond me. You seem to have some sort of paranoid fear of the state and the idea of totalitarionism, which you identify with "communism," which is actually Leninism/Stalinism.

Also, keep in mind that genuine Marxism is about economic democracy, and this is the exact opposite of totalitarianism. The definition of collectivism that I stand behind means the entirety of society working for the mutual benefit of each other, it does not include human beings of any age as being part of the collective property of society.

I oppose the concept of kids being the unconditional property of anyone, because they are autonomous human beings with the right of self-determination. Nobody's DNA should consign them to the ownership of their progenitors. DNA is not the equivalent of a stamp of ownership. If people want automatons that they can mold to their heart's desire, then they should consider building a robot rather than having kids.
