If a youth has the same rights as an adult (which they currently don't) then they should indeed be held accountable for committing serious harm against other people. ASFAR used to be against people under 18 being tried as adults for as long as they lacked their civil rights, but later voted against giving kids special treatment. Ironically, children can currently be tried as adults for certain serious crimes yet are considered too incompetent to make their own decisions regarding many things in their lives, including control over their sex lives. I personally believe that older children and teens are capable of understanding that murder and other serious crimes are wrong, and as such, they should be held accountable for when they seriously hurt or kill another human being, but at the same time the courts should protect their civil rights during a trial, just as they do with adults (and something they DO NOT do in the current juvenile courts).
