There does appear to be a link between left-handedness and those convicted of sex crimes against children ⚠️ ↗ (as well as several other types of crimes.) The study also found a link between sex offenses and lower intelligence, which seems to indicate that both a certain type of left-handedness (pathological) and certain types of criminal behavior are linked to mental problems, but that's all it says.

I suspect the researchers failed to account for several possibilities, including a lower desire to conform to societal standards among left-handed people across the board (note that a higher than average number of left-handers are also creative types, and many eccentric people gravitate toward careers that are artistic or otherwise creative), the handedness rate of noncriminal pedophiles/MAAs and the handedness rate of MAAs vs. situational molesters.
