The corollary to "the customer is always right," is the notion that all the information and testing that went into a product is equal to or less than the information held by someone who has never encountered the product before.

And yes, a computer should be custom-built to suit only the uses one can imagine when making the purchase.

Further, we can drive the price down to that which the customer is willing to pay by filling the thing up with come-ons, adverts and items whose license expires upon use.

Whee-hee.

Oh well. At one point we wanted our "experts" to be more knowledgeable than us, now we take offense at their "elitism" if they give us back information which doesn't jibe with our myths and prejudices.
