How to look good naked

You know, one of the programs I really hate on TV is that "How to look good naked." (and other such programs)

What exactly are they trying to prove? Can't they see the false logic? First they talk about every conceivable product that is available to try and 'cover up' all the blemishes, ugly skin and fatty bits. Creams, lotions, make up, sheer tights, hair products that will give back the shine, eye products that will make your eyes larger or more sparkling...

Then there is the clothing that is carefully tailored and chosen to cover up all the fatty bits. Worst of all is persuading 40 year olds to pose naked in subdued lighting carefully arranged to hide the flaws. Seductive? Oh come on.

There is a propaganda campaign at present which is designed to actively promote the beauty and sexuality of the older and fatter woman. While I personally quite like a slim older woman, I don't want to see fatty mutton dressed up as lamb with the slogan - 'you ought to like this'.

If they want to show us something truly very beautiful indeed, why don't they show everyone a typical ten year old girl without any make up, hair products or carefully designed clothing. Put her in a swimsuit and everyone will see - look at the sparkling eyes, the natural shine in the hair, the slim body, the perfect skin.

I understand why child sexuality is quickly shoved under the carpet. Women don't want the competition. It's understandable. Male admiration of child beauty is now almost taboo. Admiration of the child in a sexual way is promoted as the most abhorrent and sick thing in society - while at the same time - admiration of large and imperfect women is promoted as 'desirable.'
