...and thank you for weighing in on this. I had been convinced that what I did was wrong, that only the quality of service should count on how much you give a waitress for a tip. But your post here made me think again. If seeing a pretty young girl with flattering clothing serving you brightens your day and results in a very pleasant viewing experience for you that enhances the overall quality of the time you had at the restaurant, then why not tip them a little bit extra? This is not to say that ugly or older waitresses do not get good tips from me, because they often do. But for a young woman going out of her way to look attractive and appealing to those she serves, I now once again think that such a young woman deserves a little bit extra, especially if her service is particularly good.

I respect the opinions of Dante and Baldur and the others who said that what I did was wrong, but it would appear that gater made me think again and come to the conclusion that there is nothing wrong with tipping based upon the viewing experience, especially if the girl goes out of her way to look beautiful for the people she is serving. I also think that it's no coincidence that many restaurants hire pretty young woman as servers; they bring in customers and enhance the overall experience of dining out at that particular restaurant.
