misunderstanding

I'm afraid you misunderstood me, Dissy. I did not say that you had done anything wrong by tipping a pretty waitress extra. What I did try to convey is that you should act in moderation and that you should also try to take the feelings of other women into account (especially your dining companions). As it happens, I think you probably do a pretty good job of this, because you always try to do right by people, but all of us miss a cue or two on occasion.

I will quote from my original post: "It's perfectly acceptable to give a little extra to a cute waitress, but it is only natural that other women will feel a little jealous if they cannot elicit a similar response".
