The Snow White story is presented as being "magical" in its conception, however, there is a central cultural theme overlooked. An old "Queen" (depicted as a witch in the 1937 animation) is jealous of a young girl's beauty and then poisons her with an apple.
Noone sees this plotline as being strange. In fact, we all know deep down that it makes perfect sense, don't we?

You are totally correct that 10 year-old girls do not need makeup. The whites of their eyes are a blinding pearl. They have no dark rings under their eyes. There is not a single spot on their bodies that needs covered up because it's too fat or contains that cottage-cheese vericos growth. They barely need to shave. If they have hair on their bodies, it's softer than bird down. On top of that, when 10 year-old girls are outside on a cold day, their cheeks blush in a manner that is intentionally emulated by older women using makeup.
Yes. All of this is true. Now try discussing this reality in a singles bar, or in front of your family, or even in front of your friends. It's like some aspect of reality that is enshrouded by culture. Shaving and makeup are meant to transform an older woman's body into something younger. This reality is swept under the rug of culture. It surfaces from time to time in the "rudeness" associated with asking a woman's age.
