Well, look up a popular legend. Unicorns are impossible to catch, except by a young virgin. If she sits down, it will come to her and lay its head in her lap, with some variations on the story. It's got a big phallic symbol on it's head. It's just the idea of the horse as a man, but in a slightly more obvious image.
