I don't think you should make any conclusions on how many good and bad apples there are. There's a lack of data either way. I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt to people. People are not inherantly 'the enemy'. That kind of attitude's usually what makes them that, because they observe the excessive paranoia in such an outlook when it is assumed towards people inherantly like this.

I think you're misinterpreting the statement either. 'Sick' is a really nonspecific word, and in reality, whether or not you call someone that is based on opinion. 'Mental patient' is more broad and encompassing, and you should not attach it to negative perceptions.

Think of a traditional doctor saying "I don't care if you're sick or not, if you're brought to me, you're my patient and I'll treat you as a patient." There's nothing wrong with that.

Anti-psychiatry gets really annoying due to it's prevalent stereotyping negative attitudes, to me it bears an incredibly strong resemblence to the very problems in psychiatric diagnosis which cause the protests in the first place. Reform and revising are fine, but enough with the mad scientist demonizing please.
