Strange then, that when I go to the mall on a Saturday morning I see HUNDREDS of beautiful girls, just as flawless as the magazine models. And it's strange that at the Casino on a Saturday night there are flawless girls AND WOMEN everywhere.

The issue is not whether many beautiful girls and women exist. The issue is that virtually every one of those beautiful women you saw - and many of the girls - think that they are fat, have weird feet, have a large nose, eyes that are too small, ears that stick out too far, etc. etc.

In other words, it's all those beautiful women who think they're ugly - despite the fact that they often look better than the all-artificial super models - that have caused so much angst about body image.

Everybody understands (though no one says out loud) that the 5 foot 4, 450 pound girls are not at issue. If they think they aren't super hot, their body image of themselves is correct. It's the hyper-sensitivity about looks among otherwise healthy, young, beautiful, middle-class women and girls that is at issue, because intelligent, thoughtful, middle-class men and women care about them.
