Re: Unrealistic body image garbage

It fails on three counts.

Two of them are what has already been said:

1) The supermodel look is not the most attractive look.
2) Average women and girls are usually beautiful already even if they don't conform to a standard of "perfection" in face or body.

And the third:

3) This causes women and girls who are in the average range to take less care of themselves, getting convinced that "the unrealistic" is indeed unrealistic. In time, taking less care of yourself makes it likelier that you will indeed become less externally attractive and that "the unrealistic" will indeed become unrealistic for you. This is just another example of the delicate Franciscan balance: "Please God, give me patience to accept what I cannot change, strength to change what I can change, and wisdom to tell the difference." - trying too hard or too much and not trying at all, are in the end equally negative options.
