I'm a little surprised at Ebert's reaction. I thought they danced around the inter-age romance aspect in a way that wouldn't creep people out too bad. After all, they really were age-peers the whole time. Benjamin just didn't look the part (except in the middle). But it sounds like Ebert's aversion to the plot went further than pedophobia. I'm not sure why he found the basis of this story harder to take than any other strange movie premise.

Anyway I liked it. The themes of aging and the crazy turns life takes resonated with me since I recently passed a milestone age myself last year. Arguably the backwards aging was just a gimmick, but I don't understand why it would offend someone so much.
