What I liked about the film is that it doesn't wear its moralism too heavily. Yes, it is what it is, but at the same time it also wasn't reportage. There were aspects of it, and scenes, that were erotically-minded, intentionally so. (Girls in knickers in the bathroom (if I remember correctly), for example.

If it has to compete with Apocalypse Now, that's a tough one, but at least Christane F. has David Bowie on her side!
