case in point is the ideology of 'teenage pregnancy'.

the optimum age to have a first baby is 17 or so. the fact that it is so disadvantaging for a girl to have a child at this age is a social problem (no support from her community) not a biological or ethical one.

as for the long term. yeah. i'm a loyal adult friend, and i'm always there. i'm not likely to be the lover of any of my lgf's, but i never lose interest in their happiness, never, whatever their age now.
