Re: Size discrimination (OT rant)

I fully agree, although I can't say I'm part of the solution, just more of the problem, since I occasionally watch them. As my name implies I'm attracted to fat; I'm as "FA" if any of your are familiar with that term. Watching their "Half Ton Teen" program was a dream come true (well, could have been better if it was a girl).

But Trucker is correct, for the most part the point of it all seems to just be "take a look at all these 1000 lb porkers". You know, they could do a fat-positive show. There's TONS (pardon the pun) of people out there who are gainers, people who intentionally gain weight, and enjoy it, and some are the size of people featured in their programs.

I know the focus is supposedly about health and such, but if you look at many of their shows, it's more about the spectable of the fat people featured, and also somewhat a promotion for surgery as the ultimate form of weight loss.

That's just my two cents, I felt compelled to reply because it's a topic I know well.
