Sharon Thompson, in "Going All The Way. Teenage girls tales of sex, romance & pregnancy," shows that when it comes to consensual sex between teenage girls (13-17) and adult men, the outcomes are nearly always positive:
"[N]arrators of sexual relationships with adults felt both satisfied with their experiences and powerful because they were able to realize the expectations of pleasure and learning on which their consent was based. And if the narrators occasionally skipped school to see their lovers, by and large their academic performance improved as love strengthened their self-esteem." The girls Thompson interviewed also "did not share the adult belief that age differences imply inequality."
