It depends on how you look at it.

I don't think anyone would suggest that a LG would consciously think, 'This man is a pedophile. I am attracted to pedophiles. Let the seduction begin'. But pedophiles are drawn to children, and treat them differently than other adults would. Children notice this, and respond to it and in turn, are drawn to the pedophile. So yes, its about responding to attention, but in the case of pedophiles, children can become aware that an adult is 'different', that they aren't like the other adults, and that fact is, in many cases, appealing to them.
