He's obviously afraid of something being revealed - and possibly it seems to him to be an acceptable loss to let this doc guy "get away." I imagine most "perps" don't fight it and just bend over. The $64,000 question, however, is what could be on that computer that's so sensational that he doesn't want it publicized? Maybe they've been using quasi-kp to bait these poor bastards in with? Maybe there's enough digital dna there to get a few other poor saps out of stir? One can only speculate...
