there is some truth to what you say, but you're failing to see the import of the attention and the child's response. i'm quite aware that children (girls) are responding to the attention i give them, not to some metaphysical aura projected by my sexual orientation, but that doesn't mean the attention or the response is empty or meaningless. often as not its the basis for real friendship and mutual enjoyment.
