This may be enough to justify two warrants

This 'coincidence' may be sufficient "probable cause" to convince a judge in each state to issue a search warrant to see what really is on the hard drive that supposedly failed. And if the contents are what we all suspect, many charges could result, obstruction of justice being merely the first.
