Do what that other poster probably did: don't care.

Us drivers have a rule: when all else fails let the wheels roll. Who cares about the politics or rules of feelings? If something nice is thrown your way, be it a smile, a panty shot, or even a kiss, then do what my favorite blue-eyed soul singer Steve Winwood suggests (heard this song on the radio for the first time in ages and I still LOVE it).
