Carnival.

So I ended up taking it, on the ride home I felt my eyes grow damp as it occurred to me that I would much rather give it to my little girl-friend back home. What would a girl in my age range do with it? It would only last as long as our relationship before most likely being forgotten and left in a musty dark corner or in a box somewhere. If I could give it to her it would be a treasure that would remind her of me and something that she would keep and value. Not just something that some guy gave her because he wanted to sleep with her but something given to her by a person who she realized saw her as someone special and treated her with sincerity.
How much longer can people maintain this abysmal level of inauthenticity in their relationships? How long will it take before people begin to seriously consider that they are so dissatisfied with their intimate relationships with others because they've been taught that their needs for Love and Affection cannot be satisfied and if that, not without great personal cost? How long will it take before people finally allow themselves to Love freely without any of the limiting conventions and ingrained fears that hold us back?
