... as well as in Phoebe in Wonderland ( see other thread.)

While the technology they used for the age-regression and age-projection was amazing, they couldn't use Cate Blanchett for Daisy at all ages.

However, they were also shaping the sound in order to have Brad Pitt voice the title character at most all ages. This was advanced enough that while Elle Fanning played Daisy as a child ( and Madisen Beatty played her as a tween ) the voice was Cate Blanchett's throughout.

( Keep that in mind for any "LG" who you only know over the phone.)

On an almost unrelated note.

I'm wondering what sort of power-struggle has been lost by John Lassiter of Pixar that the voice casting in the Studio Ghibli movies ( a deal he brokered ) has declined so poorly.

While Daviegh Chase ( of Lilo and Stitch ) was originally announced to play the older sister in My Neighbor Totoro; eventually they went with the superior choice of having the sisters be played by Dakota and Elle.

But looking at the poster for the upcoming Ghibli release of Ponyo, I see the talentless kid siblings of half-talented Disney sitcom stars.

Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas?!....

Gimme a break.

Hopefully they hired a whip-cracking vocal director to pry some semblance of a performance out of these franchise properties.
