I'm sorry you're feeling so down Dissident (I know you said you don't want us to pity you, and I won't, I'm just offering my condolences)

I commend you for not being angry or bitter at these women. I know it is hard, but the heart wants what the heart wants, and if they need someone different in their lives other than you, then you have to let them go, for their own happiness because you truly care about them. You already know that I'm sure.

I think we can have many people we care about in our lifetime, but some will always be more important than others. That young woman I mentioned in chat the other night that I'm crazy about but she doesn't feel the same way, for example. Say I was dating someone else,not her, but then she changed her mind and said she does feel the same way as me, then I confess I'd probably have to break it off with this someone else I'm hypotheitcially dating.

Likewise, this young woman I'm nuts about is currently in a relationship with a guy who is great to her, and she cares for him deeply. But I know of someone she use to see, that she would probably drop her current boyfriend for in a hearbeat. It sounds cruel, but it's a sad fact of life, but it doesn't mean that these two young women you dated didn't care for you during the time they were with you. I'm sure you made an impact on their lives and will never forget you.

Anyway, keep your chin up as much as possible and take care.
