If you say it's none of their business to the head-scratchers, they will IMMEDIATELY make it their business. If, however, you play it off by saying you're a friend of the family (which is the best start because there's NO way mom and dad can be left out of the picture) and be frosty instead of cool, the likelihood of you getting even accused is nil.

So I would tell you to know the law first before you spin people's heads, this includes children as well.
