A case in point, this just in on the news today: a whole air traffic control team was suspended because one of the controllers allowed his young (9 or so ) son to be the traffic control voice. In the (not so distant) past, this would have been approved of, even celebrated, as part of a "young man's" rites of passage into adulthood, with all that that entails. Today, it is just a case of breaking the rules. We live in an empty world. Empty of real content, and governed by empty little people (politicians?).
