It just struck me as kind of odd that they still didn't regard 20 year old men as being people to be highly concerned about, even if they weren't the wise old sages of 40 who "should know even better".

Me:
Maybe that's a good thing for our orientation and for a more sensible future. Possibly. And I know what you mean about the two different attitudes regarding dating between differing ages. SOme are strictly against all forms of it, while while less of the population don't see a problem with it as long as there is not "too much difference" (maybe as long as the older partner is not old enough to be their parent).
I also think it's sad that the even older (and more wiser) folks can't be caught dead lieing with a young'n. Yes indeed, it is sad. I think people may see it like this since they may look at things like this: The older a person is, the more mileage and chances that they will have std. THese people wrongly think that if a person is "corrupted" enough to sleep with someone very muvh younger than them, while then they just also must be the type to sleep with just about anyone. THey see sleeping with someone muh younger as an act of carelessness, and therefore assume you are careless with who you choose to sleep with and therfore they fear you may give std to an innocent fresh young'n who hasn't gotten round the block yet.
