Of the close group (not sanctioned) I was with, there were about 15 child related convicts. Of those, one was situational and not really a child lover. His wife was away, his daughter was just discovering herself. The whole family was from a region in the U.S. that was... let me misdirect by calling it the hills of Kentucky. (It was not.) The practice, in that region, was commonplace. He moved from the hills to ... the military. His wife was away for something and his daughter and he began a relationship. In his words, it was her or someone else that would be with him for the act. He was tried and convicted, later released. He didn't want a little girl, he wanted sex.
But, where I was, it was rare.
My years there has exposed me to the entire gamut of sex offenders. Some were pathetic shells of human beings, some were criminally insane, some were loving people. Some were actually innocent. Factually. DNA ruled that the 5 (or more????) years Retarded Spanish Guy had done on his sentence was wrong. They caught the fellow who actually did the crime that RSGuy was convicted of.
