...and the main reason intergenerational sexual activity is illegal right now is because people under 18 have virtually no civil rights to speak of. They lost all of these rights as the 19th century rolled on, and it was a combination of the Victorian mindset that emerged during the mid-part of that century and the Industrial Revolution that followed hot on its heels. The reason youths became oppressed during that era is largely the result of economic factors that took place during that time period. It was a huge change in the world, and it was bound to have many unforseen repecussions, some of them positive (e.g., the woman's suffrage movement coming to full steam) and some of them not so positive (e.g., the full loss of civil rights for people under a certain arbitrary age; the Victorian ideology helped do this to pre-pubescent children, and the emergence of the social conception of "adolescence" extended this infantalization to young adults who were under a certain age). This is why many of the activists in this community put so much emphasis on the youth liberation movement. The madness that is the sex abuse hysteria as we know it today can only be stopped by the full civil liberation of young people, not just their sexual rights. Due to current attitudes, their sexual rights are likely to be among the last few rights that youths succeed in winning. Their two most important rights to achieve at the immediate present are voting rights and educational rights. From these two rights, all others will eventually follow.

But if people in society today do not fight for great fundamental change to the existing order, there is a great chance that other hysterias based upon sexuality or political matters (e.g., "communists" and terrorists) will emerge in the future. Humanity itself must move towards a higher and more socially and economically advanced form of world order if new hysterias in the future and the possibility of an Orwellian police state do not rear their ugly heads in continuing cycles.
