The distinction between use and abuse is not made here, and upon reading that, I became somewhat suspicious about the veracity of the claims made in the rest of the article. People who have this mindset are no fundamentally different than those who claim that sex with a minor is always rape...

I read the article and all the quotes thoroughly, and I think it was quite clear from them that most of the PJers so quoted were suffering from bouts of full blown mental illness, and the one who said he was a recovering alcoholic made it clear that he had serious issues. People with such a mindset may not have opinions fundamentally different than the average person in today's society, but what I was trying to say was that people like these PJers are more likely to have a strong desire to lash out at others than the average person. And what better group to lash out at than us? The average person with such attitudes can often be reasoned with once they get to know a few of us well. They won't twist all of our words out of context, attempt to hunt us down and entrap us, or harrass us online. This is how these individuals on PJ and AZU differ from the average individual who does not obsess on people like us despite their negative attitudes towards us.
