More than half of my posts get no response, whether I think they're important or not makes no difference.

My closest guess was Apollo -- god of the sun. It seems that the Japanese imperial royal family is decended directly from the sun, quite literally, some people think, hence the flag. With such auspicious ancestry, it's little wonder they keep track of the lineage so closely.

Minstrel with one dot is like other people with one space. I used to be stuck with a browser that stripped off trailing spaces, so I couldn't access alternate sigpics until one of the mods came up with a clever solution.
