I'm glad all seems to be well now, Griff.

Seems like you've isolated the problem to the VLC player... Whenever I play DVDs through my pc, I sometimes get a bit of a whine from the processor cooler after a couple of hours as well, but as you say, it stops as soon as the DVD has finished.

I don't know why this has changed for you now and you have to do a restart...

Just so long as you can still come visit us, though!
