The active element in absinthe is in fact thujone which is supposed to be an addictive psychoactive drug but it was never proven.

The quantities used in the present version of absinthe and mixtures like you mentioned is only 4% of the quantities used in the past.

Could send you some, but I doubt you would notice it.
