concerns over "minors" being "abused" see this is where we part company, Furcifer. what's the purpose of these quote marks if not to draw into question the conceptual legitimacy (or to put it another way, the "reality") of the terms they enclose? but if you question the status of 'minor', being a person of reduced understanding, reduced competency, reduced responsibility and even reduced rights, you have to find some other way to account for the situation of a child dependent on adults. what way would that be? the child is a prisoner? a hobby? and if you question the reality of child abuse, whether physical, psychological or sexual, then you obviously have no real concept of the world that many children live in. as a child lover, you should be more concerned than anyone about the kinds of pain that belong uniquely to children, and i'm incredibly disappointed and frustrated that you're not. |
