If the ball doesn't go over the fence, then at least three people used their hands. If it does, then it's only two. If the batter is touched anywhere but his bat during the pitch, including his hands, it's a base. If he is touched anywhere during his run, including his hand, it's an out. He is definitely not using his hands, even if the fielders sure are. The fielders are the equivalent of goalkeepers here; but like in soccer, the offense player doesn't use his hands. |
