F***ed up by adults

This is a story about an older man and a little girl. The little girl often visited the old man's house with her mother and enjoyed playing with the old man and sitting on his shoulders and exploring his garden and talking to him about all the things in her little girl world. The little girl's mother was always there, and she knew the little girl was safe with the old man. The little girl thought the old man was very funny and made her laugh. The old man loved the little girl in a way that reminded him of his own daughter at that age and of those times when he carried her around the garden on his shoulders many years ago. Every time the little girl saw the old man, she would run up to him and enjoy being lifted up in his strong arms. Then one day, a teacher at the pre-school told the children not to let adults who are not their parents or family pick them up. The little girl felt sad that she couldn't run to the old man and let him pick her up and give her rides any more, and thought the old man must be one of those bad men who hurt little girls. So the next time she saw the old man, she didn't let him pick her up and give her a ride. She could see he looked sad, but she now knew it was wrong of him to want to pick her up. (My story)
