I generally adjust my "found images" before sending. First I make the image dimensions relatively small in keeping with the majority of sigpics. Then I use a program to resize them bit-wise for the internet.

Just remember, have pity on those Luddite GCers who are connecting via dial-up. A huge siggie can consume bandwidth.
