Cinnamon Girl ( A GM )
Posted by Dante on 2010-September-02 10:27:02 EDT, ThursdayShe was an olive complexioned sweetie, about 8 or 9 years old. I was assisting her father with a few things. But she was hanging around. When the conversation interested her she was attentive. When it grew dull to her she was spinning cartwheels right in my store.
And even though her father was the beneficiary of my knowledge she made sure to catch my eye and say a polite, "Thank you." As I helped them twice in the course of my day, I got two eye-catching "Thank you"s.
She was also nibbling away at a Snickerdoodle cookie; and therefore made her general vicinity smell of cinnamon. Its moments like that which make my day.
Oh, the other day I saw a cute 10 year old wearing a very large bow around her head. It was almost more a ribbon making a band around her head. And as it was nearly two inches wide, it looked like a cross between a ribbon and a hat. But what made it stunning was her pixie-cut hair. The combo of girly ribbon, short hair, face with cute dimples and boyish clothes had me yo-yoing between my love of tomboys and my more girly interests.
