Yeah. By reading the linked article alone, all references to "abuse" are contextually ambiguous enough. I cannot infer responsibly that they mean "abuse" as in force, coercion, non-consent, manipulation instead of "abuse" as in they're 12 and under so it's always abuse, end of discussion. Even assuming no police involvement in the board's creation and running to poison the waters, this does not support a claim of it being a child rape ring as such. A KP production ring, yes, but further is not granted by even the police statements language.

In the case of Violent Desires, apart from the title itself, text was leaked that, if accurate, would verify it as a true child rape board.

And I will add that I do not really defend what they did. Engaging in contact partly or mostly to produce KP, such production itself mostly for trading it for others' KP production, is of very questionable ethics to me given the overall social situation (ie, in the here and now, not in an ideal society). Though still, not on the league of actual rape, whether or not the rape gets to be filmed.

So yes, we have seen them exaggerate to ridiculous scales and outright lie.
We have seen them describe innocuous stuff as horrific stuff.
And this time the language is pretty moderate.
So why assume something worse than what their language is saying?
The truth lies between "nothing" and "exactly as they say"; not beyond.
