Yes, I wonder how it was when there were no music recording techniques, other than writing notes, to share the music to someone else. And then a performer/"translator" (or many) was normally needed, if one were not a musician him/herself, who could read/translate the notes into music...

One danger with all the technology we have available today, is that real virtuousy/virtuousity (?) is forgotten. So we all rely on techno-logy, too much...

"No" real skill is needed anymore, no artistry... (We fix it in the mix...) It's actually sad.
