Why, of course, you're going to trust the historian . . . who agrees with your point, even though there are other historians who contradict him.

They were radical as well and part of a greater counter-culture that lost it's momentum in the 80's.

Yes, exactly my point in the 'Moreover...' post: the radicalization of the gays did not happen in a vacuum. It took place (and really only could've taken place with positive effect) within a much larger radical/progressive social era. Thank you reinforcing my point here (whilst disagreeing with it elsewhere.)
