You first. I at least took the step of outing myself. Have you done that? Let me know when you have, and then I'll give more consideration to your advice. I'm not marching in the streets, and I sure as hell am not going to riot. That's not my nature. There are different kinds of movements (and sub-movements) and not all of them are ostentatious and aggressive. That will not work for us; not now. We need a different tack. It will require finesse and creativity.

And no one person is to blame. We're all to blame in not coming together, including me. We're all responsible. Not until we all take responsibility together and decide to form a real movement, things will not change. Society will never progress to embrace us. We need to progress first.

Well, I do agree with that to an extent. I do think we need to come together, but I disagree with the means. I think we must first rein in the wilder notions and impulses within this community and focus on what is actually achievable. It wouldn't do us a damn bit of good to riot in the streets. The media would destroy us, saying, "See? They can't control their impulses. They're violent and mentally unstable." Then they'd write new laws curtailing even more rights. That would be tantamount to social suicide for me. I currently have a little girl in my life that I am allowed to take on outings, etc., despite being an out MAP. You know what would happen to that hard-won relationship if I started throwing rocks at windows and demanding the right to have sex with kids? And that would probably be the least of my problems. No effin' way. I've done far more to advance our cause by being an honest, responsible and law-abiding MAP than I ever could have if I were to follow your advice.
