...for basically the same reasons. I have not said the pledge since the middle of high school, and barring radical change in this country, never will again.

I do stand during it though, but while others recite a rote pledge to a flag, I silently pledge my love and care to all the little girls I am fortunate to know--but that is something I do a lot, not just when the masses decide to honor a flag.
