The question is still anthropocentric. Lifting works on earth, as it is an apparent flat surface with apparent attraction towards itself. On a universal scale, all directions are identical. Can God always lift a rock? If God created a universe where all rocks can be lifted, such as the one we are witnessing now, then yes. Can God create a rock impossible to lift? Yes, too - in a different universe with different physics! The secular version of this paradox talks about an immovable object and an irresistible force -solution is that both cannot simultaneously exist in the same universe. This solution doesn't change because God is introduced as creator and as personification of the irresistible force.

Yes, I'm familiar with the Asimov example, and I replied to it above: in his example he suggested the question is meaningless. He is wrong. It isn't the question that's meaningless but the concept of the duality of an immovable object and an irresistible force, just as the concept 'omnipotent' is meaningless. The 'different universes' nonsense does not contradict the question, it merely complicates the answer, which still inevitably points to the same paradox. If it requires two different universes, then God's power is limited. If you wish, you can rephrase the question: "Can God create a rock in this universe that he cannot lift in this universe?"
