I understand that you hate your neighbors, but blaming British Colonial legacies and doctrines promoted by the Church Of England on Southern Baptists is giving them too much credit.

Of course not every legacy of Colonialism takes root and expands. I can't help but think that tribalism might play a role.

The problem with folks thinking of themselves as Nations is that when it goes bad, it goes very bad ( Adolph Hitler, anyone? ) But on the plus side, when progress happens, its not just for those presently holding power and their extended kin to benefit from.

And tribalism always excludes everyone else. It looks for differences, where Nationalism looks for similarities. I suppose some diversity gets tossed out with the divisiveness.

That, combined with the fact that witchhunts are particularly bad in cultures which promote an actual belief in evil witchcraft...
