You are contrasting Masculinity with the Female.

We might just as easily decry false Femininity while praising the Male virtues.

The difference is a stereotyped cultural image Vs real gender distinctions.

One is male or female. And either gender, regardless of their gender-identity can choose to adopt Masculine or Feminine attributes.

I believe that the Feminine is an equally false construct which can damage both the party who has adopted it ( consciously or not ) and those who must interact with it. Forinstance, the idea that being "direct" isn't feminine, and that a female must persuade others that what she wants done was their idea, can cause a lot of interference between people.

The sooner we teach people that gender isn't tied up with role-playing, the better. Anyone who tells a girl that "girls don't act that way," ought to be met with a resounding, "I'm a girl and I do." The same is true with boys.

There's nothing wrong with being authentically male or female. There's something very wrong with using gender as a cudgel to create conformity. And those who know that its coercion and conformity which are the enemy will understand that those who have been beaten into submission are not the "victors" or "creators" of their own enslavement; even if the role they are forced into also involves perpetuation of the stereotype.
